TRANSPORT
This service only concerns children from EEB Uccle
The children use the transport service whose pools are on the way to the activity. There are no additional special buses.
Pupils of the European School of Uccle, who are not registered for school transport and want to use this service to go to the swimming pool, must register for transport (by filling in the Transport (fill in and return the Transport form at the bottom of the page to the swimming service by email) and pay a fee of 130€.
The number of the bus going to each pool is given to you at the beginning of the year (see here). If this bus is different from your child's usual bus, it is imperative to inform the transport service at the beginning of the year.
There are no trips from the other European School sites (including Berkendael) to the swimming pools. However, you can check with the transport department of your school to see if one of the buses goes to the swimming pool of your choice.
Please note:
- There is no return transport from the pools to school or home, nor is there a bus service on Wednesday afternoons to the VUB pool.
- Pupils must be at least 8 years old to use the buses to the pools, unless they are accompanied by an older brother/sister and the Cesame office has been informed. We believe that below this age, the child will not be able to cope with any unforeseen circumstances.
- A monitor or a teenager participating in the courses will accompany the children from the bus stop to the entrance of the swimming pools of : ERM, Longchamp, VUB (The monitors stay at the pool maximum 15 minutes after the end of the course).
For levels 1/2/3/4 of the Poseidon on Fridays:
Or the parent brings the child directly to the pool. An accompanying adult will be present in the entrance hall to take charge of the child a few minutes before the beggining of the course. She will help them get ready and accompany them to the swimming instructor.
If the child is at least 8 years old, he or she can take the school bus to the pool.
Children in group 1 will be picked up directly on arrival by the swimming instructor.
However, if they are in group 2,3 or 4, there will be no supervision until the swimming lesson starts. It is therefore essential that a parent is on hand to supervise their child.
Friday : Cesame Daycare + Cesame after-school swimming lessons :
If your child is enrolled in the Garderie Cesame on Friday afternoon AND uses one of the buses going to the swimming pool on that day, please check that the bus number given to the Garderie Cesame service and the bus going to the swimming pool are the same. It is possible that the Friday bus is different from the other days of the week and this information must be communicated to the relevant departments (transport + garderie)
On the school site:
- We do not accompany students from their class to the buses. They must be able to get there on their own.
- Please do not hesitate to inform your child's teacher so that he/she can guide him/her to the bus at the end of the course.
- For any information concerning the location or delay of a bus, children should go to the entrance of the chaussée de Waterloo or ask the supervisors wearing a yellow or orange chasuble.
